About Buca Di Beppo
Buca Di Beppo, roughly translates as “Joe’s Basement” – Buca meaning a cellar or basement, and Beppo is a rare nickname used for “Giuseppe,” the Italian for “Joseph.” The first restaurant, which was called Buca Little Italy opened in the basement of a Minneapolis apartment building in 1993.The entire chain of Buca Di Beppo consisting of 92 outlets is owned by Buca Inc., which in turn, belongs to Planet Hollywood. The chain is popular for its vintage black and white photographs on all their walls of every restaurant. Their restrooms play recorded ambient sounds – featuring women talking and laughing in Italian in the men’s room and vice versa.
The food served at Buca is à la carte, family-style. They have lunch, dinner, Catering and Wine List to choose from. A Lunch menu would typically have garlic breads, Caesar Salads, Penne, Rigatoni and Spaghetti, Antipasto salad and Apple Gorgonzola Salad. They also have subs and Pasta, Chicken Cannelloni, Lasagna and Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken. They have an Entrees section with Chicken Limone, Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Parmigiana etc. Desserts include Tiramisu, Ice Creams, Chocolate Chip Cannoli and Italian Crème Cake. Dinner has an equally extravagant menu including Meatballs, Calamari, Bruschetta, Stuffed Mushrooms, seafood platter etc.
